Thanksgiving is fast approaching, so why not let the person with memory loss help with the preparations? Depending on their lifelong preferences and current skills, that can mean anything from helping to plan the menu, cooking a dish (or several), or helping stir. Whatever their level of involvement, “prep” time is a great time to reminisce about past Thanksgivings, favorite (and least favorite) dishes, and catch up on juicy family gossip! Even if the person with memory loss can’t speak, they can smell the yummy foods cooking and listen in as others talk.
