Writing holiday cards is a great way to stay in touch with friends and family, so be sure to keep the person with memory loss involved in the process. Depending on their level of impairment, all they might need is a reminder to start. Otherwise, modify the job to meet their skill level. Maybe someone else writes the note but they sign their name. Or, perhaps they need help addressing the envelopes, but can still put on the stamp and the return address label. No matter what part of the task is done by you versus the person with memory loss, writing holiday cards is a great way to reminisce about friends and family, so be sure to take the time to talk about each person or family as your write their card. Who knows? You might learn something new about them!
