Play a Simple Ipad Game (again)

The original post on our blog about ipad games for people with memory loss brings in more people to this blog than any other. So, since the topic is so popular, we thought we’d add few more ideas to the list. They are, in no particular order.

Bible anything. There are LOTS of Bible trivia apps, apps where The Bible (or parts of it) are read outloud, etc. So, if faith is important to the perosn with memory loss, any of these are great options.

Slots Heaven -a great FREE slots game for those who like casino-style action, but hate the crowds. Of course, there are lots of slots apps, so feel free to see if you like another better.

Pocket Penguins– Watch real-time, streaming video from from the California Academy of Sciences African penguin exhibit. You can even listen as biologists answer questions from visitors during meal time, daily at 10:30am and 3:00pm PST. (This is great for people in the middle or late stages who may not be able to manipulate the ipad).

Babies– A cute slideshow of adorable babies! (again, this is great for people in the middle or late stages of dementia who may not be able to manipulate the ipad, but can still enjoy adorable babies!).

60’s Pop Culture Quiz – The person with memory loss can use long-term memory to help answer these fun trivia questions

Aircraft of WWII– 300 WWII-era airplanes that you can zoom in and out on and learn (or reminisce) about. Includes both Allied and Axis planes and “specs” for the history buffs. Great for veterans who now have dementia, as long as reminiscing about their service is pleasurable, not distressing.

Yesterday USA – Old Time Radio- Listen to old time radio shows from the 1920s – 1950s, 24 hours a day – 7 days a week.

Paper dolls-there are multiple paper doll apps, so find one that looks good and use technology to have some old-fashioned fun!

Whack it! – A Whack-a-mole style game.

Surfing around digg.com I noticed your web site book-marked as: Play a Simple Ipad Game (again) | alzheimersactivities.

Now I am assuming you bookmarked it yourself and wanted to
ask if social book-marking gets you a good deal of targeted traffic?

I’ve been considering doing some bookmarking for a few of my websites but wasn’t sure if it would
produce any positive results. Many thanks.

    • Actually, I didn’t bookmark it myself (I don’t even know what that means!). I don’t see that I get a lot of traffic through digg.com (most are through goodgle searches), but “i pod games for dementia” is one of the more popular search terms that brings people to my site. I hope that helps!

I just discovered your internet site: Play a Simple Ipad Game (again) | alzheimersactivities when
I was searching stumbleupon.com. It looks as though someone liked
your blog so much they decided to bookmark it – good job!

Another good one is My Happy Life. Its for iPad and iPhones. $1 will also be donated to Alzheimer’s Research for every app sold.
